Recovering from Fear, Change and Loss
After two years of living with Covid-19 – some of us and our loved ones literally surviving through this devastating virus – we appear to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Our community and society are now beginning to open up with mask mandates in many contexts being relaxed or eliminated and people feeling safe enough to venture out again. However, this pandemic has without questions left it's indelible mark on our collective psyche. Some of us after a few months of readjusting to pre-Covid life will go back to "life as normal" while others will continue to carry with them the scars and traumas of this pandemic.
Loss of job/income, illness of self or illness and/or death of loved ones, feelings of isolation/alienation, disruption of grounding routines and social life, unplanned and in some instances permanent change and a fear of an uncertain future have for many incubated feelings of depression, anxiety, worry, anger, confusion, panic, fear, hopelessness and a host of other challenging emotions.
If you are wrestling with any of these difficult emotions and unsettling concerns (or related ones), counseling can serve as a lighthouse to help you successfully navigate through these seemingly hazardous and unpredictable waters. I encourage you to contact me by calling 703 348-7647. Together we will harness the winds of courage, hope and determination to help you arrive safely on solid ground.
